Dr. Volkov is a neurosurgeon, providing care and treatment to patients suffering from degenerative spinal disease, spinal tumors, brain tumors, neurotrauma, and other neurosurgical pathologies. In addition to general neurosurgery, Dr. Volkov has a particular interest in treating degenerative disease of the spine utilizing minimally invasive approaches as well as open techniques. Dr. Volkov also has interest in neurotrauma/critical care, complex spine pathology associated with both oncological and degenerative processes, disease of the brain and neuropathic pain disorders. Dr. Volkov earned his DO degree at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM) and completed his residency at Michigan State University with a residency in
Neurological Surgery at Ascension Providence/Novi hospital. He then went on to complete a Surgical Neuro-Oncology Fellowship at the University of South Florida, H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida. During his fellowship, his main focus was on surgical neuro-oncology of the brain and spine, with an emphasis on open complex reconstructive spine surgery for treatment of oncological and degenerative disorders.
